Keira's Room Progress

Here are a few new pictures of Keira's room. We are just about finished!! All we have left to do is hang the curtain rods and curtains, finish the floor in the closet, and find some pink pillows for the window seat! I absolutely love it!!

Please excuse the mess; the pictures were taken after all our shower loot was taken to her room! :)

Our First Baby Shower!

Saturday, Delana and Alyssa hosted our first baby shower here at our house. It was so great! They really did a fantastic job making really "me". I must say that these girls know what I like! The decorations were adorable, the food was fantastic, the cake was too cute. And we really raked in some great goodies for Keira! Opening all the gifts made me very anxious to meet her and get to use them all! Stephen came home from work and was elbow deep in presents! Thank you all for your thoughtful gifts; they are greatly appreciated!!

And extra thanks to Delana and Alyssa! You two did such a fantastic job making my first shower amazing!

Here are some pictures of the shower and our goodies!

Not Me Monday

As another Monday rolls around, instead of venting all the things I did not do, I would love it if you would go to Mck Mamma's blog and pray for her youngest child Stellan. He is the Mck Miracle baby who shouldn't be here. He should have never shown us his cute little face. To quote Mck Mamma, "In the womb, he was diagnosed with heart failure: premature atrial contractions at 20 weeks; supraventricular tachycardia, hydrops, and intermittent advanced secondary heart block at 23 weeks; and enlargement of the heart at 32 weeks. When the doctors told us at 24 weeks that our very ill baby would surely die, we chose to give our son completely to God, for He alone knows best."
Stellan was born happy and healthy, but as of this Sunday is not doing too well. It seems his heart problems have reared their ugly head. Please take the time to go over to her blog and get caught up, and of course pray pray pray for baby Stellan and his family.
Thanks!

Keira Stuff Update!

Here's a few pictures on some of Keira's new stuff. We got her bedding and after a little struggling we finally got it on! It seems her crib makes putting on a bumper a little difficult! I have also started her letters that will hang above her crib.

This week Stephen is taking some time off while I am on Spring Break and we are planning on getting her shelves hung and other things finished in her room. My baby shower is this coming Saturday so I want to have as much done by then as I can. We only have a little over 7 weeks until she gets here!!

Delana's Baby Shower

Last weekend was Delana's baby shower. It turned out super cute. I, of course, was stressed out since I hadn't let go of things and let Delma help! But it all went great. The house was nice and spotless (and kinda still is for my shower this coming weekend!) and was very pink and girly! There were 10 of us, just the right size! She got a lot of great stuff for Madelyn! Thanks Delma for all your help making this so special for Delana!

March 10th was quite a day

Yesterday I attended my Nannie's funeral. She would have loved the entire day, except for the dry beef at lunch! Ha! (If she had cooked it she would have told us not to eat it and throw it out!) The service was great, not the usual preachy funeral. There was singing, which she would have sat back and took in and then talked about for days, beautiful flowers, and memories of the fantastic woman she was. My only complaint... the words crap-fod were not said. Those who know Nannie know what I mean. I'd love to hear her say it one more time.

Nannie you were an amazing, loving, caring, thoughtful, God-fearing woman. You will be missed!

And on a happier note, 'cause she wouldn't want us crying ALL the time.... I also hit 32 weeks yesterday. When we told her that we were expecting, she said that she had prayed for me to get pregnant for years. Maybe that is why I got pregnant so quick and have had such a problem-free pregnancy. I've had her stocked up prayers on my side! Keira has been moving around a lot in the last couple of days, and the rib kicking has begun. I think I am going to start fighting back! She needs to know that Momma is boss! :)

My Nannie

After 82 years of life, my Nannie passed away. She was such an amazing woman to all those who knew her. I have so many amazing memories of her like watching her sew, singing on the swing, taking long walks, making mudpies, fishing in the park, playing church, picking green beans, making popsicles and playdough, eating late night snacks, sitting with her in her chair before bed, watching the price is right, eating hot cakes and crispies, being her model for all the holiday dresses, finding pins in all the clothes she made us, and SO MANY MORE! Nannie I will miss you so much, and I wish that Keira could have had the chance to meet you. Please watch over me.
